Your choice of
itinerary from among the many and varied ports of call between bodrum and
Antalya will depend the upon number of days, pace , seasonal winds and
taste. It is advised not to try covering more than 25 miles a day and less
than that when you are sailing upwind or are seeking a relaxing trip
. Marmaris, which has the largest flotilla of cruising yachts in the
agean- mediterranean region , is a popular departure point for a round
trip charter, either northwest to the agean side or south-east as far as
kekova or even kemer or Antalya.
South of Marmaris you will experience
some enjoyable bay-hopping while taking time to enjoy swimming and
other water sports. Then you can anchor at ekincik and take a small boat
up the reed-lined dalyan delta to ancient caunos, and lake koycegiz
with its healing mud baths, passing Lycian tombs carved in the high
cliffs.
North and west of Marmaris you may visit legendary Cleopatra's
Island in Gokova Bay, visit the popular yachting destination at Bencik, or
enjoy the water-front, marina, crusaders' castle, and lively bazaar of
Bodrum.
